Membrane separation technology realizes separation of gases relying on the dissolution and diffusion coefficient differences of different gases in the membrane. Under the action of pressure difference from both sides of the membrane - the driving force, after gases with quite fast permeation rate such as oxygen, water vapor, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide permeate the membrane, they aggregate at the penetration side of the membrane, while gases with fairly slow penetration rate such as nitrogen, argon, etc. are retained in the retention side of the membrane so as to achieve the purpose of separating the mixed gases. It is based on the above principle that membrane separation nitrogen generators make nitrogen of desired purity with clean compressed air as the feed gas.
