Pathogens

In the US, The Quaker Oats Company has updated a previous recall to include additional products due to a possible contamination with Salmonella.

This recall is an expansion of its recall issued on 15 December and includes various cereals, bars and snacks.

The products were sold across 50 states in the US as well as Puerto Rico, Guan and Saipan.

Consumers have been advised to check their pantries for any of the products listed in this link. If customers possess any of the recalled products, they have been advised to dispose of them. In addition, customers can contact Quaker Consumer Relations for product reimbursement or for any additional information.

In order to establish whether they own a recalled product, consumers can scan the SmartLabel QR code on the product package to determine if it has been recalled.

Meanwhile in the UK, Lidl GB is recalling its Duc De Coeur Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlets, as the product contains soya that has not been emphasised in bold on the ingredients list.

The product comes in a 125g pack size, with this recall affecting all batch codes.

The discount supermarket has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations who will be able to tell their members about the recall. Currently, Lidl GB has issued a point of sale notice to explain to consumers why the product is being recalled and what they should do if they have purchased it.

Those that have purchased the product and have an allergy to soya have been advised to not eat it. Instead it can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund with or without a receipt.
