Two products regulated by the USDA are being recalled. The first is raw chorizo by New York Style Sausage Company for misbranding, the other is cooked chicken for foreign materials.

New York Style Sausage Company of California is recalling about 371 pounds of raw chorizo sausage products because they contain sesame seed that is not declared on the label. No confirmed reports of adverse reactions have been received.

The raw, Salvadoran chorizo sausages were produced on June 8, 2018. The recalled product is “Artesana Specialty Sausages Chorizo Salvadoran Recipe All Natural” in 8 ounce cardboard packages. The product is labeled “Keep refrigerated or frozen” and doesn’t have a use by or sell by date. The sausages have the establishment number “EST. 9027” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold at farmers markets in California.

The second recalled product is made by Wayne Farms, of Alabama. That company is recalling about 438,960 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal pieces. A customer complaint triggered the recall, but there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injury.

The frozen, ready-to-eat, fully cooked chicken products were produced on various dates from July 4, 2018 through July 17, 2018. You can see the product names, packaging, and product codes at the USDA web site. The recalled products include diced chicken white meat, fully cooked grilled seasoned white meat chicken fines, fully cooked all natural diced seasoned white meat chicken, chicken white meat, and fully cooked grill marked white meat chicken strips, among others. The products have the establishment number “P-20214” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to distributors, restaurants, and further processing locations nationwide.

If you bought these recalled products, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
