The Customs Office in Mengla, Kunming, frequently intercepts harmful insects on durian imported from Thailand--the durian fruit stone, owlet moths. Mohan is currently the largest port in Yunnan that imports durian from Thailand. The port imported 24 thousand tons of durian in the period between January and July, 2018, which is an increase of 480% in comparison with the same period in the previous year. Durian import in Mohan port accounts for 22% of the overall fruit import. The import value of durian in Mohan port is 370 million yuan [54 million USD], which accounts for 28% of the import value of fruit in Mohan port.
