This year, the South Tyrolean vegetable industry expects a yield of about 3,700 tonnes, which is harvested mainly in the Vinschgau. Due to the growing demand, the acreage in Vinschgau in 2018 was expanded by about 15 percent. "The harvest in South Tyrol started at the beginning of July. We can guarantee availability by the end of September, "says Reinhard Ladurner, Sales Manager Vegetables at the VI.P (Vinschgau Producers Association for Fruit and Vegetables).

All in all, about 20% more cauliflower was harvested this summer than last year, says Ladurner. Further cultivation areas of the South Tyrolean cauliflower are in the Eisacktal, Pustertal, on the Ritten and on the Deutschnonsberg.
