Hormel’s Dold Foods to expand manufacturing facility in Kansas, US

As part of its expansion plan, Dold Foods will add 156,000ft² to its existing plant in Wichita, Kansas.

Wichita City Council has also granted permission for the $132m expansion, reported Wichita Eagle.

The planned expansion is expected to add more production lines at the facility and nearly 380 new employees. Hormel currently employs 275 people at the plant.

Dold Foods plant manager Joe Peine said: “We are thrilled to be able to grow our business here in Wichita and offer our community new job opportunities.

“We have a dedicated team at Dold Foods and making this investment in our area will allow us to continue to add new team members.”

The planned expansion is scheduled to begin construction shortly with a targeted completion date of early 2019.

Hormel Foods brands include Skippy, Spam, Hormel Natural Choice, Applegate, Justin’s, Wholly Guacamole, Hormel and Black Label.
