JBS Shuts Down Worthington, Minn. Plant Indefinitely Due to COVID-19

Pork processing was dealt another blow yesterday when JBS USA announced was shutting down its Worthington pork plant and laying off more than 2,000 workers. 

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Minnesota Department of Health found that 26 workers at the JBS plant in Worthington were infected with COVID-19 late last week. The report indicates five more relatives of employees had tested positive.

The Worthington plant, located in southwest Minnesota produces brands such as Swift 1855 Premium Pork, Swift Premium All Natural Pork, Swift Premium Fresh Pork, and La Herencia.
